Introduction to Biblical Foundations [MS]
Our faith informs our worldview: our understanding of poverty, justice and the church’s role to respond. Through delving into the Gospel, our hope is that participants will continue to develop a deeper understanding of these significant topics, and bring further clarity to the personal question of ‘how is God asking me to respond to issues of poverty and injustice in the world?”
This module will introduce some key biblical concepts which we will continue to explore throughout the courses and assist in our journey and exploring our collective and personal responses.
The goal is not to ascribe to one stream of Christianity, but to look at the life of Jesus and scripture to seek truth about how God has asked us to respond to issues of poverty and inequality in the world.
This is not an exhaustive theological course, but rather an overview of the fundamentals of faith and our response to living out the gospel through answering the call to justice & shalom. This course is to help build an understanding of how our faith leads us to respond, why it is integral to the gospel and our declaration of faith in Christ through a series of bible studies and reflections.
